Purpose
This policy outlines the various types of leave entitlements available to employees and the procedures for availing leave, in compliance with applicable labor laws and company guidelines.
Scope
This policy applies to all full-time and part-time employees of Growth Climb.
Types of Leave
We provide different types of leave to cater to the diverse needs of our employees, as outlined below:
a) Earned/Annual Leave (EL)
- Eligibility: Employees are eligible for earned leave after completing 240 days of work in a calendar year.
- Entitlement:
- 15 days of earned leave per year.
- Earned leave is calculated at the rate of 1 day for every 20 days worked.
- Carry Forward & Encashment:
- Unused earned leave can be carried forward to the next year, with a maximum accumulation of 30 days.
- Employees may request leave encashment for earned leave over 30 days.
b) Casual Leave (CL)
- Eligibility: All employees are entitled to casual leave from the date of joining.
- Entitlement: 12 days per calendar year.
- Conditions:
- Casual leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.
- It is meant for urgent or unforeseen circumstances like personal work, family emergencies, etc.
c) Sick Leave (SL)
- Eligibility: Employees are entitled to sick leave from the date of joining.
- Entitlement: 12 days per calendar year.
- Conditions:
- Employees must inform their reporting manager within 24 hours of taking sick leave.
- A medical certificate may be required for leave exceeding 2 consecutive days.
- Sick leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.
d) Maternity Leave
- Eligibility: Female employees who have completed 80 days of service in the 12 months preceding the expected delivery date.
- Entitlement:
- 26 weeks of paid maternity leave for the first two children.
- 12 weeks for the third child and subsequent births.
- Maternity leave can be availed 8 weeks before the expected delivery date.
- Adoption: Female employees adopting a child below 3 months are eligible for 12 weeks of maternity leave.
e) Paternity Leave
- Eligibility: Male employees with at least 6 months of service.
- Entitlement:
- 5 days of paid paternity leave within six months of the child’s birth.
f) Public Holidays
Employees are entitled to public holidays as per the official holiday list published by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Typically, 10-12 public holidays are declared annually.
g) Compensatory Leave
- Eligibility: Employees who work on a public holiday or rest day will be entitled to compensatory leave.
- Conditions: Must be availed within three months from the date of work.
Procedure for Availing Leave
- Application: All leave requests must be submitted through the HR portal or by email at least two days in advance, except in cases of emergencies.
- Approval: Leave is subject to approval by the reporting manager, who will consider work schedules and team requirements.
- Leave Without Pay (LWP): If an employee exhausts all eligible leave, additional leave taken will be treated as unpaid leave unless otherwise approved by management.
General Guidelines
- Leave Encashment: Only earned leave can be encashed, and only at the end of employment or as per company discretion.
- Leave Balances: Employees can check their leave balances on the HR portal at any time.
- Misuse of Leave: Any misuse or false claims for leave may lead to disciplinary action.
Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or as required to ensure it remains compliant with applicable laws and reflects the company’s values and operational needs.
